Countryaah, the ruling New
Democratic Party (NDP), led by Prime Minister Arnhim
Eustace, stepped back sharply in the general elections on
March 28. The major winner of the election became the United
Labor Party (ULP), which won 12 of Parliament's 15 seats.
The NDP secured the remaining three.
The new government stated that the highest priority would
be the regulation of the so-called financial offshore
operations and the illegal money laundering. ULP leader
Ralph Gonsalves became prime minister and formed government.
